A luxury watchmaking brand, Girard Perregaux, is 228 years old, but its successful Laureato Collection is quite recent. Originated in 1975, the company launched the very first two-tone, three-hander powered by a quartz chronometer calibre, and it was the fusion of high-end technology and unmatched style in the 1970s.
The Italian distributor of Girard Perregaux suggested the name after the 1967 film The Graduate (Il Laureato), and now the universe renowned this iconic series of luxury timepieces as the Laureato Collection. History of Girard Perregaux Laureato Collection
Dates back to 1975, Girard Perregaux Laureato collection came into limelight with the elements such as distinctive hexagonal bezel and linked bracelet that made it one of the renowned innovations of the time, which is the luxury sports watch. When Laureato launched its very first model in 1975, it was incredibly slim and had a compact quartz movement.
The brand made its first revision in 1984, and then it took several technical changes to make its products up-to-the-mark and successful. Laureato enjoyed success for over three decades, but it somehow faded away on the catalog of Girard Perregaux. Later in 2016, on the 225th anniversary of the brand, Laureato came back with a bang, and it introduced the limited-edition collection. However, the company launched regular products at SIHH in 2017, and it was the rebirth of iconic models from the era of the 1970s.
In 2017, Laureato introduced new size options for watches such as 34 mm, 38 mm, 42 mm, and even 45 mm.

At SIHH 2017, Laureato come up with the version of 42mm with a lot of variation, including steel, pink gold titanium, and simple titanium, and they all are equipped with the movement of GP01800, which was the full developed and in-house design one. All models from Laureato collection in 42 mm are 10.8 mm thick and are available on strap, as well as, bracelet. For sports watches, it also come with a rubber strap.
It also introduced stainless steel watch with mind-blowing combination of brushed and polished surfaces, and the octagonal bezel is on the tip of a round bezel, which makes it stylish and distinguished appearance.
