The Rolex 214270 is a 2010 model of the Rolex Explorer that was first introduced in 1953. This model provides a larger case size boasting 39 millimeter in diameter compared to the previous models. Even though it features new and advanced design and with better technology, this is quite similar to the original watch released half a century ago. It features a smooth and polished bezel that is robust as well as elegant with a flat surface. In addition, it boasts a new dial with Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions made with Chromalight material. It also has luminous 18 carat white gold hands (longer than the previous model) for legibility.
The Rolex Explorer uses the caliber 3132, a self-winding movement featuring a Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. This is great as it provides greater resistance to shocks and can withstand harsh environments. In addition, it comes with an excellent chronometer -2/+2 seconds per day precision after casing and has a 48-hour power reserve. Oystersteel is the material on the bracelet and features a folding Oysterlock safety clasp with Easylink 5 mm comfort extension link. The watch has a water resistance of up to 100 meters.
