Introduction

Briston is a Paris-based watch brand that is distinctly British in spirit. Although it is a fairly new entrant in the watchmaking industry, it has taken the world by storm in the past few years. After spending 15 years working in the watchmaking industry, Brice Jaunet founded the Briston brand of watches in 2012. The brand is known to produce elegant sporty timepieces that combine the British spirit with French elegance. The unique design of the Briston watches is based on the time spent by Brice Jaunet as a student in Oxford.

The Briston watches are often described are chic, sporty, and quirky. The brand offers a wide range of elegant sporty watches for both women and men. The flagship collection of the brand, Briston Clubmaster, offers 8 different variations of Briston watches. These are Sport, Classic, Iconic, Lady, Diver, Traveler, and Streamliner Skeleton. While some models are driven by quartz movement, others feature automatic movement. The Traveler, Iconic, Streamliner Skeleton and Diver collections are driven by automatic movements, while the Sport, Classic, Lady, and Chic collections house quartz movement.

History of Briston Watches

The history of this French brand of chic-sporty watches does not go back too far. It was created in 2012 by skilled watchmaker Brice Jaunet, who is a watch enthusiast himself. Brice Janet has over 15 years of experience in working with some of the biggest brands in the luxury watchmaking industry. He has worked with many Swiss companies like Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Zenith, and Raymond Weil. Brice Jaunet decided to bring his wealth of knowledge and expertise in the horological industry into his own brand to create timeless watches that cater to different needs.

When creating the brand, the main objective of the founder was to create affordable luxury watches that feature authentic and beautiful designs. The design of the sporty Briston watches draws inspiration from the Oxford-Cambridge culture of boat racing, cricket, and polo.

Stainless steel watch cases are something everyone is familiar with. However, a unique feature of some of the Briston watches is the use of a material called cellulose acetate for the watch cases. This material is made from 70% cotton fiber, which makes it an anti-allergic and natural substance. It is traditionally used in the eyewear industry. The exterior components of the models with acetate cases are made of stainless steel. These components include the strap, buckle, lugs, crown, pusher, and top ring. The finish of these components can be gold-toned, silvered, or IP-coated, depending upon the model. The beautiful color themes are offered in both the stainless steel and the acetate cases.

Besides this, the Briston watches are also known for their unique case design, which is a cambered square. The brand also offers watches with colorful and vibrant NATO straps, which add a sporty finish to the design. The Briston watches feature distinctive styles of different horological eras, spanning from the 1920s to the 1970s. Even though Briston is considered to be a young watch brand, it is loved by watch enthusiasts around the world. At present, the brand supplies watches to more than 50 countries.
