Best Undone Watches
1. Undone Batman: Dark Knight Watch
The first watch we’re going to talk about isn’t actually customisable, but that’s because it’s a special-edition watch from a premium collection. Undone Watches’ Batman: Dark Knight Watch is part of a collection that pays tribute to Batman’s 80th anniversary. In fact, the commemorative 80th-anniversary badge is even printed on the watch’s caseback.
What makes this watch even more special is that it is Undone Watches’ first titanium watch. The Batman: Dark Knight Watch has a 40mm grade 2 titanium case that’s been sandblasted to create a cool, modern finish. It runs on a mechanical-quartz hybrid flyback chronograph movement that’s been supplied by Seiko. The watch is water-resistant up to 50 metres and is protected by a hardened domed K1 crystal.
The watch has a beautiful textured gray dial and a cool tachymeter bezel in black. It has silver indexes and thin watch hands that have green and blue luminescence, making it much easier to read the time in the dark. The two sub-dials — one of which includes Batman’s famous insignia — also contain the same luminescence. You will also find a “W” and the words “Wayne Industries” on the dial.
This watch has an excellent style to it, and it’s also quite lightweight and comfortable. It has a black alligator strap that pairs well with the gray and black features of the watch. If you are a fan of the Dark Knight of Gotham, then you’d definitely love this watch.
2. Undone Vintage Killy Watch
The Vintage Killy Watch is a cool, retro dress watch that comes with nine steps of customisation. But before we go through the different customisation options, let’s check out the set specifications for this watch. This vintage watch takes inspiration from the century’s most iconic timepieces and runs on a Japanese mechanical-quartz hybrid flyback chronograph movement. It has a 40mm 316L stainless steel case and a hardened domed K1 crystal. The watch is also water-resistant up to 30 metres, which is just about right for normal everyday use.
Customisation Options
For customisation, first up, we have the dial. You can pick among three different dial designs, all of which include two sub-dials. The first dial option is a minimalist black and gray dial with cream-colored Arabic numerals and horizontally placed sub-dials. For the second option, we have a white dial with black Arabic numerals, red and blue elements, a telemeter, and vertically aligned sub-dials. Lastly, there’s the all-black version of the second dial design with white font. You can also have the option to add initials up to eight characters on the dial. Choosing to include initials will add more steps to customisation such as the font, the font colour, and the position on the dial.
Next up, you’ll be given the option to choose between four case colours, which are silver, black, gold, and rose gold. After doing so, you will be presented with several options for the style and colour of the watch hands. For the strap, you can choose among rally, leather, alligator, cordura, and perlon. Of course, under each style, there are different colour options as well. Lastly, you get to choose between a solid caseback or a glass one. If you choose a solid one, you have the additional option to add an engraving to make it even more personalised. On the other hand, choosing a glass caseback gives you the option to add a picture of your choice.
This beautiful watch works great as an everyday watch, but you can also dress it up with a more formal look. For the price range it’s in, the Vintage Killy Watch goes above and beyond not only in quality but also in aesthetics. Its timeless design truly embodies the golden age of watchmaking.
3. Undone Classic Original Watch
If you’re looking for a stylish and durable watch, Undone Watches’ Classic Original might just be for you. This military watch is built for high-performance functionality, with a stylish design perfect for everyday use. The watch has a Japanese automatic winding mechanism, a 316L stainless steel case, and a LEXAN polycarbonate lens. It has a great water-resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for recreational swimming. It’s durable, comfortable, and costs less than $500.
Customisation Options
The watch has a pretty straightforward dial design with a mix of large Arabic numerals and thick hour markers — both of which are in a smooth cream colour. For customisation, you can choose between a classic black dial or a textured blue dial. You may also add initials up to three characters. These initials have four available font styles and can be either white or black.
The watch’s case comes with four colour options: black, silver, gold, and rose gold. For the bezel, you may choose between a black sterile bezel or a graduated one, which is a vintage lume on green, black, or navy. For the hour and minute hands, you can choose between three styles: arrow, mercedes, and sword. The arrow style has a bright orange arrow tip for the hour hand, while the sword style has a cream and silver combination. The mercedes style, on the other hand, has four different color options. For the second hand, your options include one straight style, four colours of lollipop style, and one arrow style.
With this watch model, you can even customise the movement. You may choose between a movement with a white date disk or one with a black date disk. The date window is wedged between the 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock positions. After choosing this, we now head on to the strap options. This watch comes with seven different strap styles with even more colour options underneath each one. It would be too much to name them all, so we’ll just mention some options that aren’t always available to other models such as a nato strap and a metal bracelet. For this watch, it will strictly have a glass caseback. Now, you can choose to have it as is or include a printed picture for a more personal touch.
4. Undone Batman: Caped Crusader Watch
For our next Undone Watches bestseller, we have yet another timepiece from the Batman 80th anniversary collection. Since this is a special-edition watch, it will not come with customisation options. This watch has a Japanese TMI VK64 mechanical-quartz hybrid flyback chronograph sourced from Seiko. It’s water-resistant up to 50 metres, making it more than suitable for everyday wear and exposure.
The watch has a 40mm rounded square case made from grade 2 titanium. This case is sandblasted to create a sleek modern finish. It has a glass caseback with the Batman 80th anniversary badge printed on it and a hardened domed K1 crystal. The watch also has a black canvas strap with yellow stitching that feels quite comfortable on the wrist.
This watch has a pretty cool black dial with a luminous web-like design. It has a black tachymeter bezel and two sub-dials with black and yellow elements. The yellow sub-dial has a green luminescence and also contains the iconic bat signal. It also has luminous watch hands and indexes for optimum readability. For the final touch, you will also find the words “GUARDIAN OF GOTHAM CITY SINCE 1939” on the dial.
5. Undone Basecamp “Kyoto Ghost” Bronze Watch
The Basecamp “Kyoto Ghost” Bronze Watch takes on a rustic Japanese look. Since this is another special-edition watch, customisation is not available. This watch reinterprets the Classic California Dial in a more oriental style. For the California Dial, the top half has a Roman numeral layout, while the bottom half is in Arabic numerals. However, for this watch, the Roman numerals are replaced with Kanji characters. The Kyoto Ghost also gives a subtle nod to the three marks of existence in Buddhism: impermanence, suffering, and absence of self-nature.
The Basecamp “Kyoto Ghost” Bronze Watch is also special in another way as it is Undone Watches’ first timepiece with a bronze case. The bronze really brings out this cool, rustic vibe that really adds to its charm. Complementing the CuSn8 bronze case, we have a handsome brown vintage leather strap. Overall, the watch captures the feel of an old soul, but with a modern Japanese automatic winding mechanism. It also has a LEXAN polycarbonate lens and a pretty good water-resistance of 100 metres.
6. Undone Urban 34 Killy Orange Sterling Watch
The Urban 34 Killy Orange Sterling Watch is Undone Watches’ first ladies’ watch. It’s got a 34mm 316L stainless steel case and a hardened domed K1 crystal. The watch runs on a Japanese quartz movement with sweep second hand, date, and 24-hour display. What’s fun about this watch is that it has two strap lengths: one for office mode and another for a night out in the town. These straps have a quick release system, making it no problem to change it up while on the go.
This watch only has a few customisation options. But before we get to that, let’s take a look at the set components. It has an off-white dial with a cool pulsation bezel. The watch has two sub-dials, black Arabic numerals, blue hour and minute hands, and a red sweeping second hand.
The dial design is pretty much fixed, but you may add initials with a maximum of eight characters. And if you’re really into astrology, the watch also comes with the option to add an icon for your star sign instead of initials. For the case, you can choose between classic silver or trendy rose gold. Now, the watch may come in a default orange strap, but you can choose among four other colours. Lastly, the watch only comes with a glass caseback, which you may choose to personalise by printing a photo of your choice.
7. Undone Cali Green Watch
This next piece from Undone Watches takes on the distinct style of the California dial of the 1930s. The Cali Green Watch has a dial layout with the top half in Roman numerals and the bottom half in Arabic. This watch runs on a Japanese automatic winding mechanism and has a pretty good water-resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for swimming. It has a 40mm stainless steel case and a LEXAN polycarbonate lens.
For customisation, the California dial is available in green, black, or blue. But if you’re not really digging the style of the California dial, you can opt for a classic black or blue dial design. You may also choose to get some initials on the dial. You can only have up to three characters, which are available in four different fonts and two colours. For the stainless steel case, you can have it in black, silver, gold, or rose gold. This watch also comes with a bezel that can either be a graduated bezel in green, black, or navy, or a sterile bezel in black.
For the hour and minute hands, you may choose among three styles, with one of the styles having four possible colours. The same thing goes with the second hand. For the strap, you may choose among seven styles: nato, rally, metal, leather, alligator, cordura, and perlon. Under each style, there are also additional colour options. Lastly, this watch has a glass caseback which you can customise by sending in a photo to be printed on it.
8. UNDONE x Noritake Pointing Boy 2.0 Watch
For our last watch, we have another special-edition timepiece. Undone Watches partnered up with Noritake once more to create the UNDONE x Noritake Pointing Boy 2.0 Watch. This watch allows you to wear Noritake’s most loved illustration on your wrist. The Pointing Boy turns Noritake’s boy illustrations into watch form by using his arms as the watch hands.
This playful watch is sleek, fashionable, and will surely bring smiles upon seeing the cute illustration on the dial. It has a black stainless steel case and a hardened single domed K1 crystal. At the back of the case, you will find a large “N”, which represents Noritake. Matching the black case, we have a durable and comfortable black canvas strap. The white dial is pretty clean and simple, which really brings the focus to the pointing boy illustration. Even the two sub-dials beside the boy are in subtle gray colour to complement the illustration. The boy’s arms become the watch’s hands, changing positions as time ticks by.
How are Undone Watches Made
Design
When it comes to customisable watches, design — especially the flexibility of design — is key. With that, a lot of creative minds actually play a huge role in the conception of the watches. Undone Watches wanted people on its team that would see the watch as a blank canvas full of possibility. Watches begin as several sketches and drafts on paper that eventually become prototypes in the lab. In creating these designs, the creative team band together to come up with different customisable options for each unique design. These flexible designs undergo extensive testing and are altered multiple times until the whole team is completely satisfied with the final output.
Materials
Another important aspect that goes hand in hand with watch design is the picking of materials. For its customised watches, Undone Watches wants to give its customers the freedom to choose between different materials for their desired watches. Whether you prefer canvas straps or leather straps, Undone Watches has got you covered. And there is an assurance that within the pool of choices for the materials, only those with the highest quality are handpicked for the job. These high-quality materials include 316L steel, sapphire glass, and LEXAN polycarbonate. Choosing the materials goes through intricate processes and strict quality control to ensure that their final form is perfect. Some of these components are made in-house, while others are sourced from reliable manufacturers that a lot of Swiss labels collaborate with.
Customisation
Now, here comes the fun part: customisation! Most Undone Watches are shown with a present design and come with different customisation options for different watch aspects. Now, it’s important to note that not every watch is customisable. There are special cases such as limited or special-edition watches that only come with one design. But for the most part, Undone watches are easily customisable. What you can customise and how many options there are for the part depends on the watch you’ve chosen. Some watches have more available options than others, but there is still so much you can do to personalise your Undone Watch.
Before we get into the process of customisation, it is important to note that not every part of the watch is customisable. For example, you can’t really request for a watch to have additional functions and features such as sub-dials and date windows. You’ll have to consider which particular functions and features you want before picking a watch.
First, you need to look through the available watch models you can pick from. Now, there are a lot, so you can choose to pick by style or maybe take a look at the best sellers. When you click on the watch of your choice, the page will show you some set specifications such as the movement, the case material, and the watch crystal. Make sure not to click “add to cart” just yet since you should first go through the customisation part. For each watch, the number of steps will differ, but the page will still show you how many there are and where you’re currently at in the customisation process. Again, what you can customise and what options are available varies from watch to watch. So, we won’t be listing down all the possible options. But to give you an idea, you can sometimes change the dial colour, the style and colour of the watch hands, and the strap. To make it even more personal, Undone Watches often gives you the option to add your initials or name to the watch itself. Heck, you can even add an engraving on a solid caseback or a picture in a glass one. The best part is that you’ll be able to see each option and combination projected on the image itself.
Assembly
Once you’re satisfied with the design you’ve helped create yourself, it’s time to place an order and let the skilled hands behind Undone Watches do their job. Your designs are brought to life as the watchmakers carefully assemble the individual parts you’ve chosen for your special watch. This includes adding engravings, adorning dials with initials, and printing the personal pictures you’ve sent in. Of course, Undone Watches doesn’t just send you your custom-made watch after assembly. Rest assured that your custom watches are thoroughly tested onsite first to ensure that they meet the quality standards. After one final check, they are packed and delivered to you.
